yes we can!
this has been a week. of. i'm not sure i even have the right words for what this week has meant to me, to my friends, to my country. i have renewed faith in my homeland, and i feel weight lifting from my shoulders and from my heart. this weight, now, is proudly and ambitiously upon the shoulders of a capable leader. for the first time in many years (say, eight or so?) i feel the direct connection between my daily life, my personal turmoil and triumph, and the grander happenings of my government and my country. i've missed this connection. it feels right again.

First, re:long lapses // (and so nice to see your comment :) Yes, I think blogging should be (ideally) in reverence to that balance. The balance is what makes us human, makes us dimensional beyond whatever crude boxes and flat surfaces we try to create for ourselves. And keeping ourselves in check, personally and artistically, I agree that thats a definite reason, maybe the main thrust for me. (My hesitation with blogging has always been- where's the line between personal and public??) ....
re: yes we can // hurray!!!!!!!!! Totally with you here...
Hi! I just found your blog through a friend's link.
That picture of the bag- amazing. I'm guessing that the bag is either WWI or WWII vintage, which is one of my favorite eras because there was such a community spirit in the US.
Where did you find the bag? What is its story? I would love to hear its tale and see more pictures of it, if you are so inclined.
I'm CraftyAbby on ravelry if you want to respond by personal message.
